Introduction to Jama Masjid

Description of Jama Masjid
The Jama Masjid has an ancient Turkish bath within its premises. It is also the center of Daa’wah program within the state of Andhra Pradesh. Also referred to as the ‘Markaz’, the Jama Masjid is a beautifully built mosque with regal white towers rising above. There is a meet of a large number of Muslims every Sunday who come to Jama Masjid after the Maghrib prayers.

History of Jama Masjid
It was Quli Qutub Shah who built the mosque Jama Masjid in the year 1597, after the Charminar was completed. Once upon a time, there was also a school and a monastery which were within the premises of the Jama Masjid in Hyderabad. But they do not exist anymore. It was after the city of Hyderabad was founded by Muhammed Quli Shah that he built the Jama Masjid.
