Introduction to Manjira Wildlife & Bird Sanctuary :
The Manjira Wildlife & Bird Sanctuary in Andhra Pradesh is one of the most popular of the sanctuaries in the state because of being the habitat of a large number of resident as well as migratory birds. It is located near the Sangareddy in the district of Medak in Andhra Pradesh, along the river Manjira.
There are nine mall islands which together forms this small sanctuary between the Manjira and Singur barrages. The months between October and July are the best for visiting this sanctuary. To reach the Manjira Wildlife & Bird sanctuary, Hyderabad will be the nearest railhead . To travel by road, it is at a distance of 29 km from Mecharia, which is the nearest town to the sanctuary, 50 km from Hyderabad. There are regular bus services that connect Medak with cities like Hyderabad, Nizamabad and Karimnagar.
