Kapilavastu Popularly known as Piprahwa, Kapilavastu is a Buddhist religious site nestled in the Lumbini Zone of Nepal. It falls on the Indo-Nepal border in the Gandaki, Dhaulagiri and Lumbini Zone. It was the capital of Shakya clan and was also one among the earliest Republics in the world. The early childhood of Lord Buddha was spent in the royal palace of Kapilavastu.
