Vaishali Vaishali is one of the most famous religious sites for the Buddhists. This place is counted as a major pilgrimage and religious site as it is at this place that Lord Buddha met the prostitute Ambapali, which is mentioned in the Mahaparinibbana Sutta. Sutra was taught at this place, according to the Mahayana tradition. You can locate Vaishali in the state of Bihar.
