India being a secular country derives a lot of enthusiasm for festivals of all religion. Though a particular community celebrates the festival with most enthusiasm but the social structure of this country is such that other communities also join in to take a pie of the fun. Ramzan is one of the popular festivals in the Muslim community. It signifies the holy month in Islam.
The Muslim community performs a number of customs and rituals during the celebration of Ramzan. It starts with the moon sighting and then fasting for a whole month. In fact, the Muslim devotees observe the fast without consuming water and food from dawn to dusk. The whole month is regarded as auspicious in the Muslim Community.
