The best fact about the Dusshera Festival is that people from all caste and creed participates in it. During the celebration, along with Danteshwari Mai, who represents the Hindu Goddess Durga or Kaali, a number of lesser powers and tribal divinities are also worshipped.
Dusshera begins with worship at the temple of Kachhingudi, a local goddess. A seven year old girl belonging to the weaver caste is chosen and is ceremoniously married to the priest of the shrine. This little girl symbolizes the goddess. After some time she goes into a trance like state and is asked to grant the safe manner of the celebration.
