Ayudha Puja is one of the popular festivals in India. It is mainly celebrated in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Huge fanfare and enjoyment takes place during the festival and hundreds of people take part in the celebrations. The Ayudha Puja is a festival which is held as a mark of respect to Ram and Sita.

Ayudha Puja is celebrated with much enthusiasm in Uttar Pradesh. The devotees flock the temples of Rama and Sita all over Uttar Pradesh. People in Uttar Pradesh worship their weapons in this day. In modern times devotees also worship their automobiles.

The ritual of Ayudha Puja is related to weapons in more sense than one. Even mythology documents the same. Many of the Shaiva texts stress on the point that ayudha or other tools are not to be regarded as symbols of violence rather they should be considered as weapon of grace whereby Shiva destroys the bond that ensnares human souls.
