Dudhsagar Waterfalls
The Dudhsagar Falls, on the border of Karnataka and Goa drops a height of 600 meters. It is considered to be one of the highest falls of India. The Konkan meaning of the name of the waterfall is 'sea of milk'.

The old Vasco Castle Rock Railway passes over the Dudhsagar Waterfalls. However, it is shut for the past three years as track conversion work is going on.

Arvalem Waterfalls
The Arvalem Waterfalls in Goa is near the Temple of Rudreshwar. It is 24 feet high and reaches the bottom to form a large lake. The best time to visit the Arvalem Waterfalls is just after the monsoon. The Arvalem Caves or the Pandavas Caves are in close proximity to the Arvalem Waterfalls. The government of Goa has made a park close to the Arvalem Waterfalls for the tourists.

The spot near the Arvalem Waterfalls of Goa is of special significance. It is where the religious function is performed to appease the souls of the departed Hindus on the 12th day of the death of the person.
