2 Day Trip to Goa

Day 1

Day 2
Goa has now become synonymous with the grand and architecturally flawless churches. The Chapel of St Francis Xavier and the Basilica of Bom Jesus are known all over the world.
The Chapel of St Francis Xavier was originally built in 1545. After the breakout of the epidemic the chapel was abandoned and the new chapel was built in 1884.
The Basilica of Bom Jesus was built in 1605 and is today considered as a World Heritage Monument. The church retains the relics of St Francis Xavier, the patron saint of Goa. Since his death in 1552, the body of St Francis Xavier has remained as fresh as it was when he had died. Every ten years an Exposition or public viewing of the body is organized for the public.
Aguada Fort, situated 18 kilometers from Panaji, Old Goa is worth a visit. Aguada in Portugese means 'water'. Built by the Portuguese, the fort provided water to the Portugese sailors and hence it was given this name. There is a lighthouse built in the fortress.
Drop in at Souza Lobo, a restaurant known to serve the best Goan food in the region and taste the famous Goan Balchao.
