The Royal Lake, an artificial reservoir built by Rana Raj Singh is one of the many artificial lakes in Rajasthan and is the central attraction of Rajsamand. An elegant stepped embankment with several decorative arches and pavilions on all sides of the lake is called Nauchowki("Nine Pavilions"). This was built by Raj Singh and reveals exceptional architectural prowess.
