Khandala was discovered by Sir Elephinstone in 1871. It is best to visit it during the rainy season. Just a few hours distance from Mumbai and you are transferred to this scenic place in the Western Ghats. The topography is hilly and therefore experiences pleasant climactic conditions throughout the year. The whole area is replete with verdant greeneries and Colonial styled Bungalows.
