Ooty or Udagamandalam is rightly described as "Queen of Hill Stations" by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Ooty spreads over an area of 36 sq km with a number of high buildings cluttering up its hilly slopes. The city is situated at an elevation of 2,240 meters above sea level.
