    City Info :
Jamshedpur was named Jamshedpur in 1919, by Lord Chelmsford in honor of its founder, Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata, whose birthday is still celebrated as Founder's Day (on 3rd March). Jamshedpur is nicknamed the Steel City and Tatanagar after the name of its railway station, or simply as 'Tata' in deference to the significant presence of Tata companies in the city. Jamshedpur is well connected to the rest of the Jharkhand state by rail and road.
