Transport in Corbett National Park

There are two indian wildlife safaris a day in Corbett National Park, one starting in the morning and the other late in the afternoon. While one can take one's vehicle, the best way to see the park and its inhabitants is by 4x4 open jeep. As Corbett National Park is located at the foothills, in some places only a vehicle with a high ground clearance can pass. 4x4 jeeps called "Gypsys" are available for hire at Ramnagar. The resorts will arrange jeeps for their guests.

For those staying outside the Corbett National Park, and desirous of having a look at the indian wildlife in Dhikala zone, they can contact the Park office at Ramnagar and take the day visit conducted by them. A medium size diesel truck, modified for indian wildlife viewing is used for this. Lunch is taken at the Dhikala tourist complex.

Elephants have been stationed at Dhikala, Bijrani, Gairal and Jhirna for taking tourists on an elephant safari in Corbett National Park.
