Located in the High Ranges of the Western Ghats, Eravikulam Wildlife Sanctuary stretches over an area of 97 square kilometers. The undulating landscape, the rolling plateau and the high peak of Anamudi comprise to make the Wildlife Sanctuary home for many different kinds of animals.

Over 100 different kinds of butterflies are known to be found here. Species of flycatchers, laughing thrush, Nilgiri Pipit, and white bellied Short wing are also found in the Eravikulam Wildlife Sanctuary.
