Transport in Eravikulam

Introduction Eravikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is a popular wildlife reserve in Kerala which was established to conserve and protect Nilgiri Tahr. The Wildlife Sanctuary is located high altitudes of the Western Ghats.

The undulating landscape of the Wildlife Sanctuary, the rolling plateau and the high peak of Anamudi together make the Wildlife Sanctuary home for many different kinds of animals and birds.

Tourists from all across the globe visit the Eravikulam Wildlife Sanctuary every year. The best time to visit the park is in the winter months when many migratory birds visit the park and also it is the time when the Nilgiri Tahr gives birth to young ones.

Transport in Eravikulam
Not much transport is available in the Wildlife Sanctuary due to the high altitude. There is a motorable road up to Rajamalai, the head quarter of the Eravikulam Wildlife Sanctuary. Rajamalai is located at a distance of about 17 kilometers from Munnar. Regular bus services, taxis and rented cars and available here which connect to the main cities.
