 Manas National Park in Assam is located on the Himalayan foothills and a part of it extends to Bhutan crossing the international border. In Bhutan, it is regarded as the Royal Manas National Park. Covering an area of 391 sq km, the Manas National Park was declared a sanctuary on 1st of October, 1928 and was designated a World Heritage site in December 1985.
