During the winter months, there are quite a few migratory birds that fly to the Nagarjunasagar Wildlife Sanctuary. The large reservoir of the Nagarjunasagar dam on River Krishna is the home to many species of water birds.Some of the birds found here are bonnet macaque,grey hornbill, the great Indian Bustard, Spot Bill Pelican, Lesser Florican and the almost extinct Jerdon's Courser.
