Stretching his foot below the embankments, Hanuman epitomizing strength sits in his temple on the banks of Navegaon Lake, life giving water mass at Navegaon National Park in Gondia. Surrounded by seven peaks (thus the name Sat Bahini), considered to be seven sisters, the Navegaon Lake was supposed to have been constructed by Kolu Patel Kohli at the beginning of 18th century. Standing beside this Lake, one can get a magnificent glimpse of Wild Life at Navegaon National Park in Gondia, with its rare avian species flying above some richly hued floral varieties amidst which resides an amiable fauna family.

Navegaon National Park in Gondia consists of Deer Park, An Aviary, Three Beautiful Gardens and Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary. Covering an area of 135 square kilometers, Watch Towers are located at suitable points to enable to proper view of wild life. From the raiding Pindaris, a tribe of robbers, the local villagers used to obtain respite by escaping into this Navegaon National Park in Gondia.
