Climate in Panna National Park

Panna National Park,Climate in Panna National ParkThe 543 sq km stretched Panna National Park has a very varied climate. It is scorching heat in the summers and the winters are bone chilling. The vegetation in the forest are highly influenced by the climate. The dry climate in the park has led to the domination of the dry deciduous forest.

Though the Panna National Park remains open from October 1 to June 30, yet the best time to visit is during the months of November to March. Some say that May-June is the best time for sighting of the wildlife.

The seasons in the park are distinctly different. The month of February to March remain cool with the temperature hovering between 16°C to 26°C. The mercury starts soaring high from the month of April, and in the mid summer it even reaches 45°C. the winters are chilling. At times the temperature drops to 3°C. this is though the best time to catch the Crocs basking in the sun.

The reserve forest receives fairly good amount of rainfall. The average rainfall per annum accounts to 1100mm.
