Ranthambore National Park Happenings

  • Tigers have killed and even eaten crocodiles in Ranthambore National Park.
  • Leopards avoid tigers as far as possible, because given a chance tigers will kill them. Leopards by and large stick to the higher elevations of the park to avoid the tigers. Some years back a tigress and her cubs had trapped a leopard on a tree, near the metalled road running in front of the fort.
  • The wild dog became extinct out here in the 1960s. In the late 1990s two single male dogs have been found in the park. Where did they come from - no one has an idea.
