Introduction to Bori Wildlife Sanctuary
Bori Wildlife Sanctuary in is one of the famous tourist destinations in India. Tourism in Madhya Pradesh remains incomplete without visiting its sanctuaries and national parks. Bori Wildlife sanctuary came into being in the year 1977. Madhya Pradesh is famous for its various tourist attractions and the wildlife of the state forms one of the foremost attractions, which draws tourists in large numbers.

Bori Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Hoshangabad District of Madhya Pradesh. This wildlife sanctuary is one of the oldest forest reserves, with an area of 518 sq kms. This wildlife reserve is conveniently placed on the northern foothills of Satpura Range. In the west, there is the Tawa River and in the northern and eastern part, the sanctuary is surrounded by the Satpura National Park. The river Tawa gets dried up in the dry season. The forest floor consists of fertile black-cotton soil with a combination of sandy loam. In the mounts, the soil is chiefly composed of sandstones, shales and basaltic rocks.

The sanctuary is mostly covered by mixed dry deciduous forest. Teak, dhaora, bamboo, tendu are the main vegetation in this reserve forest. There are shrubs and other climbing plants that have added to the wonderful flora of reserve.

Different floras and vegetation of the sanctuary is the homeland for various animals like the tiger, leopard, hyena, jackal, wild dogs, and Indian fox, chital Axis, sambhar, nilgai, chinkara, gazelle, jungle cat and four horned antelopes, all of which can be seen roaming in their natural habitat.

There are forest bungalows and guest houses that are the best places for accommodation to enjoy the serenity of the jungle and the thrill that resides in it. Various safaris and the nature walks will give you a chance to enjoy the nature and its various elements. Different safaris are arranged so that tourists can enjoy the excitement of the jungle.
