Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is an annual affair and was first celebrated in the year 2003. Every year the event is celebrated with some aim or purpose, with productive interaction of the Diaspora with India being the underlying purpose.
Creating a consciousness of ‘Global Indian family’ was the main achievement and highlight of the first Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. The conference was attended by over 2000 delegates from 61 countries and about 134 Diaspora speakers shared their views on different issues with the Indian speakers.
Close interaction of the Indian Diaspora with the Central and State government to define new policy initiatives for the Diaspora and exploring business opportunities in India within the Diaspora were the important objectives of the second Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. Preparing a global network of the younger generation of the Indian Diaspora spread across the world was another major objective of the event.
Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated on a large scale as Indian Diaspora from all over the world come to participate in the event. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is attended by not only large number of foreign delegates but also equal number of domestic participants.
Eminent NRI/PIO are also felicitated for their achievements with Pravasi Bharatiya Samman on this occasion. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is a big event, which involves, not only speeches and conferences but also exhibitions, food fests and entertainment evenings.
