About Jammu and Kashmir
The currency that prevails in Jammu and Kashmir is the Indian currency. The northern-most state of India, Jammu and Kashmir is mostly nestled in the Himalayan Mountains. Jammu, the Kashmir Valley, and Ladakh are the three divisions that Jammu and Kashmir comprises of. While the Kashmir Valley is famous for its breath-taking mountainous landscape, Jammu, known as the City of Temples, attracts hordes of Hindu and Muslim pilgrims round the year. Ladakh is popularly called Little Tibet for its snow-covered mountains and the ancient Buddhist culture that dates back to the 2nd century.
There are several places worth a visit while on a tour to Jammu and Kashmir. The most popular tourist attractions of Jammu and Kashmir are Kashmir, Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Jammu, Leh, Ladakh, Patnitop, the beautiful Mughal gardens, and famous pilgrimage centers like the Amarnath Caves and the Vaishnodevi Shrine. The quaint houseboats on the charming Dal Lake are a major attraction of the state.
