The route runs entirely on State highways and from Bangalore (MG Road) to the junction after Srirangapatna is 125 km which you can cover in about 2 ˝ hrs. From Srirangapatna, take the Mysore-Hunsur Road, SH88. Drive for sometime and thereafter, take Hunsur bypass road to reach Medikeri – the district headquarters of Coorg. While driving from Hunsur to Coorg, you will pass through scenic locales and extensive coffee plantations.
The second route to reach Coorg in Karnataka runs via Neelamangal, Kunigal, and Chanrayapatna - all located on the National highway, hence the roads are excellent.
