Hampi is a village in the northern side of Karnataka. Hampi is situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River. Hampi is basically located within the ruins of Vijayanagara, which was the former capital of the huge Vijayanagara empire. Hampi is a very religious village and centre. The village possesses many religious centres like temples and much many more. The picturesque city of Hampi is also known as "The City of Ruins". According to the history of Hampi, it is said that Hampi formed one of the cores of the capital of the Vijayanagara empire from the year 1336 to the year 1565.
There are a huge number of tourist attraction spots and Temples in Hampi. Every year thousands of tourists from all over the world and from all across India visit the beautiful village of Hampi.
