- Archaeological Museum: Situated beside the Town Hall Road, it has many relics and heirlooms of archaeological importance.
- Art Museum : Situated in a separate building in the Zoo compound, the museum has a good collection of woodcarvings, metal sculptures and pristine jewelry.
- Puthan Palli: One of the tallest churches in Asia, it is known for its Gothic model of architecture.
- Vilangankunnu: This picturesque hillock is known for its charming splendor overlooking the expansive town and countryside.
- Pooram Festival: The biggest crowd puller of the region, this special religious event involving a spectacular procession of decorated elephants, cultural shows, dance and music competitions, prayer, worship, and percussion performances is celebrated during the month of April or May.
