Palakkad is a fort town in Kerala which has hillocks, valleys, rivers, forests, dams, open paddy fields and deep green Palmyra trees. It is situated at the foot of the Western Ghats and is therefore known as 'the gateway to Kerala'. Its famous name is Palghat and probably has the biggest mountain pass in the world.
