Day 05: Matiari
In the morning you will visit the Matiari village. Later proceed to visit Mayapur temples. The village of Matiari is one of the most rare places where you can see the whole primitive process of beating out brass water pots and other vessels.

Mayapur is famous for its vast new ISKCON temple. There are also older and humbler temples nearby as well as the giant banyan tree at Nabadwip on the opposite bank.

Day 06: Kalna
You will enjoy a cycle rickshaw visit to the town of Kalna.

Kalna has a group of some of Bengal's most attractive terracotta temples, as well as the unique Shiva Temple with concentric rings made up of 108 shrinelets.

Day 07: Bandel - Barrackpore
Visit Bandel in the morning. Later visit Barackpore. In the evening the ship will be docked just below the famous hanging bridge of Howrah.

Bandel is known for the Portuguese church as well as the nearby Imambara and the Dutch cemetery at Chinsura. The Howrah Bridge is a world famous hanging bridge on the Ganges. This sentimental landmark and identity of Kolkata and West Bengal successfully bears the weight of a daily traffic of approx 150,000 vehicles, 4,000,000 pedestrians.

Day 08: Kolkata - Departure Transfer
In the morning you will have a taste of Kolkata, the city of joy.

Kolkata is one of the prime cities in India for its rich cultural, social, intellectual historical background. The main attractions include the Victoria Memorial with its fine collection of pictures, St John's Church, the South Park St Cemetery, Government House, Writers' Buildings and many other landmarks.

You will be transferred to the airport or train station to board a flight or train to your next destination.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Kolkata
On Arrival at Kolkata you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to the Howrah Station. A 5 hrs journey from there will take you to Jangipur to board the ship.

Kolkata is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal and is also known as the 'city of joy'. Kolkata is also regarded as the cultural capital of the nation owing to its rich cultural heritage and association with prominent personalities in the arts and academics.

Day 02: Gaur
Reach and visit Gaur near Malda town and see remains of mosques and palaces.

Gaur was once one of India's great cities. Historical relics of 14th and 15th century Bengal particularly worth seeing are the Bara Sona Mosque, Dakhil Darwajah (built in 1425), Qadam Rasul Mosque, Lattan Mosque and the ruins of the extensive fortification. There are colorful enameled tiles on the Gomti Gate and Firoz Minar.

Day 03: Baranagar - Murshidabad
Visit Baranagar today. From there cruise past Azimganj with some fine riverside mansions to Murshidabad and visit the Nawab's Hazarduari Palace.

Baranagar is delightful sleepy village of with three gorgeous miniature terracotta temples. An English architect built the Nawab's Hazarduari Palace in Murshidabad in 1837. The palace is said to have one thousand doors. Inside the palace there is an extensive collection of pictures, china, weapons and other objects.

Day 04: Khushbagh - Plassey
Enjoy a cycle-rickshaw visit to Khushbagh today. Then cruise down to Plassey and finally to Katwa.

Khushbagh is a peaceful Mughal garden surrounding the tombs of Siraj-ud-Daulah and his family. The Battlefield of Plassey is the historic site where Lord Clive defeated Siraj-ud-Daulah in 1757. This led to the British subjugation of India. Katwa is a market town with narrow bustling bazaars.
