The Ranthambore National Park is famous for its tiger population and a haven for animal lovers, who arrivein this beautiful town from all the corners of the world. The city is also famous for a 10th century fort, which is situated inside the Ranthambore National Park.
We return to the Palace on Wheels and leave for Chittorgarh at 1030 hrs.
Day 06: Chittorgarh (Sunday), Arrive - 1600 Hrs
We reach Chittorgarh after having lunch on the Palace on Wheels.
The entirety of Chittorgarh still echoes with the tales of its tragic past… a tale of love, honor and sacrifice. Chittorgarh shares the secrets of her past as we discover the various hidden facets of this hauntingly beautiful city. We return to the Palace on Wheels.
The train leaves for Udaipur at 0530 hrs.
Day 07: Udaipur (Monday), Arrive - 0730 Hrs
We arrive in Udaipur in the morning.
Often considered to be one of the most romantic cities on earth, a tour to Udaipur, or the "city of lakes" is an experience of a lifetime! Founded by Maharana Udai sIngh in the 16th century, the city is home to Jag Niwas, Jag Mandir and the City Palace complex. We stop for lunch, which is followed by a trip to the Crystal Gallery in the evening.
We leave for Bharatpur on board the Palace on Wheels in the evening.
Day 08: Bharatpur (Tuesday), Arrive - 0630 Hrs
We arrive in Bharatpur in the morning.
Famous as the home of the Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary, Bharatpur is a wild life lover's paradise. The city is famous for the bird sanctuary which houses almost 300 species of birds including migratory birds from Siberia and China.
We travel by road to Fatehpur Sikri in a luxurious coach.
Built by the Mughal emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri was once the capital of the Mughals. Well planned and meticulously maintained, this city was later abandoned by the Mughals due to a scarcity of water. Completely constructed of red sandstone, this city reflects the lost grandeur of the Mughals.
We drive back to the Palace on Wheels that leaves for Agra at 1145 hrs.
Day 09: Agra (Tuesday), Arrival - 1430 hrs
Arrive at Agra and set out on a sightseeing tour.
The day is devoted to a visit to the Taj Mahal, the most recognizable symbol of India. built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj is still haunted by the spirit of love.
We return to the Palace on Wheels for dinner, while the train leaves Agra at 2300 hrs. Overnight stay on board the train.
Day 10: Delhi (Wednesday), Arrive - 0600 Hrs
We arrive at the Safdarjung Railway Station in Delhi at 0600 hrs
