Tara Devi Temple

This temple is a tranquil and calm spot that is situated at a distance of 11 km from Shimla bus stand. The temple is dedicated to Goddess of the Stars and is located atop of a hill. According to facts, this was established by the British and holds the Boy Scout head-quarters and Military Dairy Farm. Visitors can experience the toy train ride that leads to the base of the Tara Devi Hill. This ride also takes you to the temple post an hours walk through the Rhododendron forest

Chadwick Falls

Overlooking the Summer Hill and located at a distance of seven kilometers from Shimla is the silent Chadwick Falls. It is at a height of 1,586 meters. You can get the best views during the monsoons.

The Glen

This is a well known picnic spot located close to Shimla. At 2149 meters, there is a dense forest that surrounds this picturesque suburb. There is a track here follows to Sipur, an exquisite glade that is shaded by old deodar trees. As you go on traveling there are ancient temples in the side. There is also a fair that takes place here every April.

Chail

Chail is located at a distance of 26 kms from Kufri and is an hour's drive amidst the beautiful pine and oak forests. Going by history, it was Maharaja of Patiala who built this spot as a summer retreat destination. This place is well known for the cricket and polo grounds. They are located at a height of 2,250m which makes it the highest pitch in the World. Chail is also well known as hiker's paradise with several trek routes moving out of Chail to Shimla, Choor Peak, and other Himalayan sites. Other places to visit here are Chail Sanctuary, Indian Muntjac, Sambar, Barking deer Goral, and even the Himalayan Black Bear. Best time to be here is between the months of March and October.
