Pandav Caves in Pachmarhi

The Pandav Caves Panchmarhi are an important tourist landmark in Panchmarhi. Five ancient caves carved out of a low hillock are known as the Pandav Caves Panchmarhi In India. The very name of Pachmarhi is derived from these Panch- Marhi (five caves or huts) believed to be the abode of the Pandava brothers from the epic 'Mahabharata'.

The cleanest, most airy of the caves is known as 'Draupadi Kuti' after Draupadi- the wife of the five brothers; and the darkest one, the 'Bhim Kothari' after the strongest of five brothers- Bhima. Some motifs and a brick stupa were discovered above the caves.
