Devotees who visit the temple believe that the Goddess fulfills their wishes. One of the rituals here is to tie a thread for fulfillment to the branches of a tree planted in the temple complex. And, once the wish is fulfilled, one has to come back again to untie the thread. According to Hindu Mythology, the Goddess emerged from the mind of Rishi Kashyap and is the sister of Naga (snake) Viper.

Chamunda Devi temple and Har-ki-Pauri are two of the main attractions near Mansa Devi Temple Haridwar. Hindu devotees visit the temple in huge numbers every year.
