Introduction to Khajuraho :
Located in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh, Khajuraho is a city well known for its temples and sculptures. The temples of Khajuraho follow the shikhara style where the main deity if placed in the centre on a sanctum. Some temples are dedicated to Hindu deities while others are dedicated to the Jain pantheon. It is believed that originally there were 80 Hindu temples out of which only 22 remain.
How to get there :
About 600 kilometers from Delhi, Khajuraho is well connected with the rest of the country by rail, road and air. Flights from different parts of the country offer cheap tickets to fly to Jhansi. An overnight train from Jhansi is the ideal way to travel to Khajuraho .
