To witness the annual Ganesh Chaturthi Festival when large images of Lord Ganesha are immersed in the sea, Chowpatty beach is the place to be. Dancing monkeys, acrobats, fortune-tellers and mobile vendors calling attention to their wares make the beach vociferous. The central part of the beach is lined with food stalls selling Bhelpuri, Paanipuri, Pavbhaji, Kulfi, Ice candies etc.

The Versova Beach, situated towards the northern end of Juhu, which is home to Mumbai's largest Koli fishing community or the Hare Krishna ISKCON complex nearby are also worth a visit.
