Vijay Mandir
Built by Maharaja Jai Singh, the Vijay Mandir Palace has a beautiful well-laid garden surrounding it and a serene lake in the foreground. It has 105 elaborately done rooms. In the history of Alwar, maharaja Jai Singh was known to be an eccentric King who gave way to his whims. The Maharaja had ordered the construction of the Yaswant Niwas, an elegant Italian structure but on its completion he disliked it and immediately built the Vijay Mandir Palace. Though history accuses Maharaja of eccentricity, Alwar can boast of one of the best palaces it encompasses.
Sita Ram Temple
During Ramnavami, an important festival in Northern India, the Sita Ram Temple, built within the palace grounds is thronged by devotees. To visit the Vijay Mandir Palace, prior permission is needed from the Maharaja of Alwar, at Alwar House, New Delhi, to enter the Vijay Mandir.
