Kirti Stambh

Kirti Stambh is another famous structure in Chittorgarh. It is the 22-m high tower, called the Kirti Stambh or Tower of Fame. It is built probably around the 12th century. It is a Jain Structure, built by a Jain merchant who was dedicated to Adinath, the first Jain Tirthankar (Revered Jain preacher). This tower is devoted to Digamber following of Jain religion. This fact is indicated by the naked figures of various Tirthankars, Jain Pantheons, seen on the tower. There is a narrow stairway, which gives way to the seven floors to the top.
