D. by the then rulers of former Mewar State. The lake lies on the northwest of main Udaipur city and is to be found to the north of Lake Pichola.
Lake Fateh Sagar was primarily constructed with the intention of irrigational purpose. Gradually this water body has become the reliable source of water supply in the whole area. Lake Fateh Sagar is in fact the second major source of drinking water for the city of Udaipur. Madar tank is the place from where the main feeder canal of the lake comes.
