1st Day : Delhi - Paro by Druk Air
During this flight, one will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchang Junga and other Himalayan peaks including sacred Chamolhari and Mt. Jichu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro Airport, you will be received by a representative of Druk Expeditions. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
2nd Day : Paro
Drive winding road northwest up the Pa Chu to Drukgyel Dzong , the ruined Fort , which once defended this valley from the Tibetan invasion. This fortress, now a burned shell, was once strategic in Bhutan's defense against the Tibetan invasion. Mt. Chomolhari , the sacred summit reaches skyward beyond the Dzong . This can be viewed on a clear day. Also visit the National Museum.
3rd Day : Paro - Thimphu
This morning follow the winding road beside the Pa Chu down stream to its confluence with the Wang Chu then up-valley to Thimphu, the Capital of Bhutan. Afternoon lunch at the Hotel. After lunch visit the Memorial Chorten, the shrine dedicated to the Late King. Overnight at the hotel.
4th Day : Thimphu
A full day of sightseeing of Thimphu. Wander in the town, visit the Handicraft Emporium, Tashichho-Dzong and the National Library. Overnight at the hotel.
5th Day : Thimphu - Genekha
45 minutes drive to the starting point of the trek. An unmetalled road (inaccessible during monsoon) with a sign board reading Genekha Pry. School is a trail for the 04 hours walk. All through the trail, terrace farms and coniferous vegetation are abundant. Camp at Genekha.
6th Day : Genekha - Gur
On this day we leave Genekha (the Village of Medieval Metallurgists). The communication with native starts with alpine flora and fauna (birds are common). 02 hours of gradual uphill walk and huge rock platform reveals the beauty of nature below. Another 02 hours walk ends the days trek. This camp is in the heart of the wood, ideal for afternoon stroll. Flowers are abundant in spring.
7th Day : Gur - Labatama
20 minutes uphill and before descending down the valley, take a good view of the Great Himalayan Peaks. This point is around 4,460 mts above sea level. Your escort will identify the peaks from Everest, Kanchanjunga, Chomolhari, Jichudrake, Tsevingang, Gangbom, Masagang, Tsendaygang and Gangchen Taa. Passing through meadows, shrubs and lakes, the day is made as you camp at Panka, 04 hours walk.
