Detailed Itinerary
Day 01 : Welcome To Lhasa
Fly to Lhasa airport from where you will be transported to Lhasa hotel in the comfortable tourist coaches. Check into your room, and take ample rest, as we strictly advice our customers to feel at ease and if having problems related to mountain sickness or breathing problems, our consultants are always there for your assistance. This will help you get accustomed to the climate of the Tibet. The rest of the day is at your disposal. You can explore the nearby market at your own pace, experience the different lifestyle of the people, their language, costume. Your exploring will be worth.
Day 02 : Lhasa Sightseeing (Potala Palace, Norbulingka)
The day starts with an early morning breakfast including the delicious Zanba and buttered tea after which we the real fun begins. Our first halt will be at Potala palace - the center of attraction of Lhasa city, unfolding numerous magical tales. It will take over 3 hrs to explore the specious rooms and halls inside the palace. Then we will leave for Norbulingka palace which is around 3km to the west. Wander around the park exploring the numerous palaces built by different Dalai Lamas. Spent some time on the green lawns enjoying the refreshing shades of lush green trees and rejuvenating in the fragrance of flowers. It will be almost dark by the time you finish roaming in the Norbulingka palace. So before severe cold sets in, we move back to the cozy rooms of our hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel
Day 03 : Lhasa Sightseeing (Jokhang Temple, Barkhor street, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery)
The day begins with a sumptuous breakfast consisting of Amdo dough stripsand the special Tu pa after which we start the day's sightseeing. First, we are off to Jokhang Temple, which is just a ten minutes drive. Explore the most famous monasteries in Tibet, as early morning vista of the monastery is a great experience, there is a peculiar freshness in the air and you can also see the monks deeply involved in their daily rituals, truly a stimulates your mind and soul. It will take around 3 hrs to explore every part of the temple. Step out into the street just outside the temple named Barkhor street. This is one of the best shopping places in Tibet. Do shop for the traditional handicrafts and the famous Thangka paintings. After your shopping spree, we continue out sojourn to other important Buddhist sites like Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery. In evening get cozy with the bonfire and the cultural activities organized with the hotels.
Day 04 : Lhasa to Xigatse
Morning will feast you with royal breakfast consisting of the best of Tibetan cuisine, check out of the hotel. Today is the day full of adventure thrill. You will be ferried by road to Xigatse, it will take around 6 hour from Lhasa. We have taken special care in choosing our routes, as to make you see the maximum of the beautiful landscape, the culture and the Tibetan rural folks, passing through small villages and towns. Believe us your this journey will give you the best of en-route experiences. Yor stay is arranged with Shigatse hotel, rest for a while to get charged again. Utilize the day the way you want. Step into the pleasant city which you will find is a bit more greener, with a lot more trees than other cities. Shopping is an also a great time pass as you will find the most exquisite items like silver ornaments and traditional wears here. Dinner will be served in the hotel itself.
Day 05 : Xigatse Sightseeing
The day is set aside for sightseeing in Xigatse. Early morning, we take you in an air-conditioned bus with well maintained temperature. Tashilhunpo Monastery, the official seat of Panchen Lama is an architecture marvel, spent around 3 hrs to explore the monastery. We then move to Palkhor Monastery - famous for the Saka Dawa festival. Find the most amazing murals on the walls of the monastery. Moving from one monastery to another might sometimes become quite monotonous, so to pep up things, we take you to natural wonders of Xigatse. Xiqin hot springs and Yatung hot springs are the perfect place for a relaxed solitary time. Don't forget to wash up your face and hands with the spring water as it contains medicinal values. If weather permits then dip your entire body, for perfect healing. In the evening we head back to the hotel for a good night's sleep.
Day 06 :Xigatse to Saga
The tour up till now had been predominantly focusing on sightseeing. But now it will have a slightly adventurous tinge to it. We head towards small town of Lhaze, a small stop and then to Saga. The ride is going to be absolutely different from all the rides till now. The roads will be more rugged and the altitude will constantly increase. Keep your eyes wide open, and camera's focused as this is one of the most breathtaking terrain in Tibet and you will come across many nature's marvel. We will go for a shot trekking for an adventure thrill. So, properly geared with your sport shoes, caps etc. At Saga, we will set up a small camp for overnight stay. Enjoy the warmth of bonfire assisted with magical cultural dances performed by the Tibetan folks.
Day 07 : Saga to Darchen
After waking up in the nature's lap, we again drive through sublime landscapes to Darchen. You will feel the thinning of air as we reach Darchen which is at an altitude of 4000 m above sea level and from here, you will get the most scintillating views of Himalayas. The town is the closest to Mt. Kailash so you are bound to see many pilgrims camping here, getting ready to start their holy trek to Mt. Kailash. We too will camp here for the night.
Day 08 : Darchen - Mt. Kailash - Darchen
Starting the day here, at the foot of some of the most mesmerizing giants, is going to be one of the best moments of your life. We assure you that no other morning will make you feel more energetic and ready to go than this one. And you will need all that energy as this day is going to be absolutely demanding, both physically and mentally. Start the trek at the foot of Mt. Kailash which is around 8 km long and is extremely challenging. It takes around 6 hrs to cover the distance and the highest pass is at around 5000 m, so carry all the necessary equipment's including warm clothes as the temperature here changes fast. After spending a while at the foot of the most holiest mountain in the world, admiring its excellence, we head back to the camp in Darchen and spend the night there.
Day 09 : Darchen to Lake Manasarovar
After having the self-prepared meal, we drive towards Lake Mansarovar, another unparalleled beauty. It takes around 1 hr to reach Lake Manasarovar which is around 20 km away. Take a refreshing walk besides the magnificent crescent shaped lake that will be an absolute treat for your eyes. You can also sit on the banks and gaze at the arrogant mountains that stand head held high. For a different view of the lake, we climb up to a nearby Chiu Monastery, which is situated, on a cliff. You probably won't know how quickly the time flew by and its already dusk. We camp at Lake Mansarovar for the night.
Day 10 : Lake Manasarovar - Darchen - Xigatse
The day is set aside for traveling only. Early in the morning itself we leave for Darchen. From Darchen we take the same route that we used to come here and head to Xigatse. The journey is long and the paths already traveled, so it might feel a bit lengthy. Check into Shigatse hotel at Xigatse and take rest for the day as next day too is for traveling.
Day 11: Xigatse to Lhasa
After your last breakfast in Tibet, check out of the hotel, we will take you in an air conditioned bus to Lhasa from where you will catch a flight for your onward journey.
