Kiarighat is a hilly retreat few kilometers from Shimla that had a dak bungalow before the Himachal Pradesh tourist department turned it into a guest house. The area around this bungalow is sparsely populated and mainly unexplored making it an excellent weekend getaway from Shimla. Tourists from Manali, Kullu and Shimla can visit for a day's expedition here.

Earlier a dak bungalow, the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation operates this economy bar cum restaurant. Cheap yet delicious food and snacks are available here. You can order for the sumptuous chicken cutlets and dine at the open space in the garden to enjoy the scenic beauty. This cafeteria serves guests until late night and you can easily have your dinner and enjoy coffee later on. There is a sit-out area for guests to relax and unwind. There is also a play area for kids and they have enough space for fun.
Solan - Solan is a district and city with the same name in Himachal Pradesh. It is 19 km away from Kiarighat. At an altitude of 1350 meters above sea level, Solan is blessed with a picturesque landscape worth exploring. Solan is accessible from New Delhi, Shimla and Chandigarh. It is particularly famous for its breweries and important tourists places in Solan are Kuthar Fort, Jatoli village and the Nalagarh Palace.
