Nanda Devi Temple - This temple sits at the heart of the town and is believed to be at least a century old. Nanda Devi is the principal deity and special pujas take place during the Nanda Devi fair every year.

Almora Public Museum - Also known as the Govind Vallabh Pant Public Museum, it is situated close to the bus stand. The museum gives you a glimpse of the culture and history of the region. There is a rich collection of art and artifacts often related to archeological findings. The gallery on Aipan paintings is worth watching here.

Deer Park - Enjoying an idyllic setting, the Deer Park is located around 3 km from the town. You will come across a variety of deer species at this park.

Bright end Corner - The Bright End Corner is an excellent point to see sunrise from the eastern end and sunset in the west. The unusual tranquility of the place and the charming scenery around, make this place popular among both single travelers and couples.

Chitai Temple - This temple in Almora is dedicated to Lord Shiva who is referred to as Lord Gollu by the locals. The Chand dynasty commissioned this temple. Devotees believe in hanging several bells on the nearby tress for the fulfillment of their wish.

Ranikhet - Another hill town in the district of Almora, Ranikhet is located at an elevation of 1869 meters. The place offers clear views of the western part of Himalayan peaks. The best time to visit is from March to October.

Katarmal Sun Temple - This is the second most important Sun Temple in India after the Konark Sun Temple of Orissa. It dates back to at least 800 years and is surrounded by around 45 more shrines. The style of architecture, wall carvings and intricate designs leave the tourists spellbound. Although, partly in ruins, visit to Katarmal will be a worthy one.
