Kinner Camps - Tent Accommodation in Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh offer several opportunities of trekking and camping on its hills and valleys. Camping is an important activity for adventure tourists and honeymoon couples. At higher altitudes such as the Leh-Manali Highway, the tented camps are the only accommodation available for overnight stay. Camp accommodation is fast gaining popularity near the wildlife parks and sanctuaries. The trekking routes of Manali, Leh, Nako, Shimla and Ladakh have such camps being set up mostly during May-October. These camps usually do not serve tourists during the winter months as the highways are closed and there is heavy snowfall.
Kinner Camps have its presence in both Sangla and Nako. Sangla Valley is part of the Kinnaur district in Himachal Pradesh and the Tibetan border is only few kilometers from here. It is also situated along the Baspa River offering picturesque views and forming the perfect base to campers. Nako Village is also part of Kinnaur district and is well known for the Nako Lake.
Kinner Camps - Sangla Valley
The Kinner Camps at Sangla Valley is situated at an elevation of around 2800 meters above sea level. Nestled by the Himalayas, this campground is at the Kinner Kailash foothills. Surrounded by cedar and pine trees, this place is apt for rejuvenation. It is also the best place to enjoy nature and the magnificent landscape. The 20 Swiss cottages provide luxury accommodation and all modern amenities to guests. All luxury tents here have attached baths with hot water facility as well. The tents also have access to generator back up and in-room dining. The multi cuisine restaurant here serves Indian, Chinese and Continental dishes.
The camp started its operations in the valley in 2001 and since then has played a major role in promoting eco-tourism and adventure sports in the area. It has organized several trekking and water rafting expeditions. Other adventure activities that you will enjoy during your stay at this camp are forest trailing and paragliding during summer.
Kinner Camps - Nako
Nako Village is a hot spot for trekkers who come to visit the Nako Lake and the ancient monastery here. Nako monastery and the lake are main attractions and the Kinner Camp at Nako offers accommodation to Buddhist pilgrims and adventure lovers. In the picturesque village of Nako, this is the only luxury camp that is situated at an altitude of 3662 meters. The Reo Purgyal Peak forms the backdrop to the tent camp here. The peak is also a trekking route to visit other Buddhist shrines in and around the village.
Accommodation at Kinner Camp Nako comprises 11 Swiss tents with attached baths and heating equipments. There is a separate dining tent as well serving multi cuisine food.
Kinner Camp Sangla also organizes day trips and trekking to the nearby villages of Changpo and Leo and to monasteries of Somang and Tashigang.
