Wildlife in UttaranchalIntroduction:
From warmth loving, typically tropical animals to those who have made the snow clad Himalayas their natural habitat, Uttaranchal’s wildlife population covers the entire spectrum. Wildlife in Uttaranchal features as a major attraction for the many tourists who come to visit Uttaranchal in search of purification of the soul or simply for the natural splendor. Recent government initiative is beginning to bear fruit. Eco resources have been identified and plans have been drawn to improve the wildlife . Strict measures are taken by the Uttaranchal government to curb hunting. The powerful environmentalist lobby of the state is trying to monitor the wildlife projects like save the white tiger or protect the red panda.

Wildlife in Uttaranchal is dominated by varieties of wild sheep, goat, oxen, antelopes and butterflies. The windswept mountain plains act as a good grazing ground for these animals. Musk deer and squirrel can also be seen frequenting this blade of tree line.
