The characteristic features of Kashmir's Overa Wildlife Sanctuary are its lush green hills, eye-catching mountain landscapes and deep valleys. The basic shrub of the sanctuary boasts of Desmodium tiliaefolium, Indigofera heterantha, etc. The ground of this sanctuary is covered by a major coat of Dicotlydonous herbs, which consist mainly of Artemisia vulgaris, Taraxacum officinale, Anemone spp., etc.
