Introduction

The district of Bageshwar, is a famous pilgrim destination located in the northern part of the state of Uttarakhand in India. Situated at the confluence of the rivers Saryu, Gomti and latent Bhagirathi, the town of Bageshwar is revered as a sacred land, associated with Lord Shiva - the savior from all sins. Other noted sites worth visit during tour to Bageshwar are the Chandika Temple, Shri Haru Temple lying about 5 km from Bagheswar, and Gauri Udiyar featuring a huge cave enshrining idols of Lord Shiva.
