The Bhaudaji Lad Museum, Mumbai is located amidst the picturesque Victoria gardens of the city, which has been renamed as Rani Jijamata Udyan or Rani Bagh. This museum is a tribute to the work and devotion of Dr. Bhau Daji Lad.

The Bhaudaji Lad Museum in Mumbai is one of the oldest museums of the city. Located near Byculla Station, the museum is run and maintained by Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, Mumbai (INTACH). In the year 2005, this museum was honored with the UNESCO Award of Excellence.

Previously known as the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Bhaudaji Lad Museum, Mumbai was constructed in 1872. Today, this museum has become popular with the tourists as well as visitors for its vast collection of maps, archaeological relics, and photographs. Most of these objects are related to the history of the city of Mumbai.

In the Bhau Daji Lad Museum, you will also be able to browse through the rich collection of the items related to Industrial and Agricultural fields. You must take a look at the clay models and costumes stored in the museum as exhibits. Items like copper and wrought silver wares are also found in the collection. You will also love to see the collection of votive bronzes, fossils, delicate ivories, minerals and temples models built from pith here.
