Within an expanse of 811 sq km, Dudhwa National Park in the state of Uttar Pradesh, marks its territory. Its territory, which mainly comprises dense forests, marshes and grasslands is a bit isolated from the celebrity parks of India like the Corbett and Kaziranga. Hence, it offers an undisturbed natural habitat for a rich variety of flora and fauna. Established as a wildlife sanctuary for swamp deers in 1958, Dudhwa had a long journey of ups and downs. It was due to the efforts of a wildlife conservationist, Billy Arjan Singh, that Dudhwa got its credits as a National Park in the year 1977.  As Billy was more inclined towards the Big cats of the Jungle, the park became a part of Project Tiger. In the present time, the park boasts of a huge population of Tigers and Swamp Deers.

The national park also speaks of its flora, which includes more than 50 feet tall ‘Sal’ trees flourishing in a mix of tropical, semi-evergreen, tropical moist deciduous and dry deciduous vegetation at Dudhwa.
