Ranthambore National Park is one of the best national parks in Rajasthan, India. It was established in the year 1955 by the Indian Government and was later declared Project Tiger Reserve in 1973. This world-class national park derives itself from the name Ranthambore Fort located close by.

Earlier, the sanctuary of Ranthambore forests was a private hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur. It was enlarged by the inclusion of Keladevi & Sawai Man Singh Sanctuaries. In 2006, the Forest department expanded the Ranthambore tiger sanctuary granting approximately 1700.22 sq. km.
