Although few, there are still some stunningly beautiful and quiet lesser-known and secret beaches of Goa tucked away from the tourist rush and madness. Before, you plan to visit these beaches, do not forget to carry packed lunch as there are no hotels and no beaches shacks near most of them. We present to you this list of secret beaches of Goa that no one told you about.

1. Kakolem Beach: Secret Beaches of Goa

Also known as Tiger beach, Kakolem beach is a small beach cove located in a bay. It is also one of the most secluded beaches of Goa. Lying southwards of Cabo de Rama beach, it boasts of abundant scenic beauty. While the views of the surroundings are simply stunning; it is the mystery of the setting that is the major lure. Because of being away from any sort of rush, the sands are pretty clean.

The beach is around 31 km away from Margao city. Start driving on NH66 highway towards Cola village, which is the only way to arrive here by land. After a while, you turn north-east, driving on a small path, just off the road takes you to the platform. Take the steep and narrow meandering stairs to finally arrive at Kakolem beach. The easier way is to rent a boat to come here and go back. Close to the beach is a small spring gushing down from a hillside, flowing into the sea later.

2. Butterfly Beach: Secret Beaches of Goa

Lying 37 km away from Margao, northwards of the Palolem beach, the cutely named Butterfly beach is an unexplored beach, offering unspoiled scenery and much-needed privacy. This tiny beach lies on Butterfly Island and is a wonderful place with glowing crystal clear waters.

As the beach lies amidst a forest, therefore it is not accessible by roads. However, you can rent a short ride from Agonda or Palolem beach to come here. 3. Galgibaga Beach

The seasonal nesting and hatching site for the endangered Olive Ridley turtle, Galgibaga beach is generally quite isolated, just except a few Beach shacks selling seafood and drinks. Lying 18 km away from Canacona, southwards of Talpona river estuary, this beach is known to be the cleanest beach of Goa. However, to get to the beach by land, one first needs to come to Morbor beach as from here you take the Cavelossim-Assolna ferry that takes you across the Sal River and finally you get down to your destination.

A 17th century fort, Canaguinim beach and a small lagoon near this place are worth-visiting. The silver colored sand, the coconut palms, and the fruit trees make the beach a picturesque one. 5. Hollant Beach

The boats of the fishermen line the curvy shore of this rocky beach. 6. Arambol Beach

This bohemian sort of beach makes it an ideal alternative to beaches like Calangute if you prefer ‘less busy’ beaches. 7. Cola Beach

To arrive at this beach, you need to travel southwards to Canacona on a scenic road, from here signboards will take to this flawless beach, with a lovely backdrop of coconut palm groves.

This beach is around 10 km away from Agona beach and 15 km from Palolem beach, and boasts of an exotic lagoon, encircled by beach huts and Rajasthani style tents. Abundant tranquility and nature’s beauty awaits you here. Just sit back and relax, lit the bonfire and listen to the music of the waves. It is also known as the Khola beach and the Little Cola.

8. Agonda Beach

Around 37 km away from Margao, Agonda beach is just the ideal location for planning a picnic with your loved ones. The landscape looks pretty dramatic because of a rugged cliff in the southern end with a blue sky in the backdrop. You might spot bat nests up on the trees here.

The pristine, huge, serene and stunning Agonda beach has a turtle center in its middle where Olive Ridley eggs are protected. 9. Velsao Beach

Located northwards from the well-known Majorda and Colva beach in South Goa, Velsao beach is yet another secret beach of Goa which is a relatively quiet and breathtaking one with its soft silver sand. You do not spot crowd of tourists here but just a lifeguard and flock of avifauna friends. Visitors can partake in swimming here.

While the beach road is lined by coconut groves and old bungalow, the coastal stretch alternates for a lovely countryside drive, dotted with paddy fields and lakes, decorated with lilies. This tiny beach can be reached by Bogmalo, Colva and Majorda beaches, making it ideal to spend a day here. 10. Siridao Beach

Lying close to the Zuari river estuary, around 12 km southwards from Goa capital city Panjim, Siridao beach has been blessed with a dramatic landscape of scattered rocks and smooth sandy strips. The oyster and pearl shells that get washed ashore, look extremely beautiful. Also, the nearest attraction is The Chapel of Jesus of Nazareth, an extremely popular one in the region.

11. Sinquerim Beach

Though there are a few luxury resorts close to this beach, the environment here is pretty calm. It is a long stretch of beach with shiny soft sand.
